Kató Havas String Workshop

Lecture demonstrations on the release of physical tensions. Special emphasis is placed on repetitive-strain injury, tendinitis, and other problems. Training on overcoming mental anxieties, and the causes and cures of stage fright. Covers all aspects of playing, including the juddering bow arm, intonation, shifts, double-stops, and vibrato.

Health and Performance Institute

A comprehensive program, cosponsored by the Ithaca College School of Music and the School of Health Science and Human Performance. Five days of seminars, workshops, and consultations focused on an individualized approach to health and music performance. Faculty will examine physical and mental aspects affecting the musician. Topics include basic anatomy and physiology, exercise prescription, posture, stress, mental training and practice techniques, common injuries, Feldenkrais, learning styles, applied kinesiology, and master classes in music performance.
