I am 49 and getting back to playing cello after 30 years. I consider myself a beginner and have found that there are a few physical challenges. The biggest one at this point is getting the cello close enough to be stable on my knees. I have extra weight that I didn't have in HS and am looking for ideas of how to make the cello more stable so that bowing on the D and A strings is more comfortable. I would love to hear from others who may have this similar challenge and have figured a way around it.Obviously one way is to loose some of the weight and, since this takes time, I'm looking for alternatives.
Anyone who is SERIOUS about assisting me, please reply.
