I am 49 and getting back to playing cello after 30 years. I consider myself a beginner and have found that there are a few physical challenges. The biggest one at this point is getting the cello close enough to be stable on my knees. I have extra weight that I didn't have in HS and am looking for ideas of how to make the cello more stable so that bowing on the D and A strings is more comfortable. I would love to hear from others who may have this similar challenge and have figured a way around it.

Obviously one way is to loose some of the weight and, since this takes time, I'm looking for alternatives.

Anyone who is SERIOUS about assisting me, please reply.
